I enjoy working in both abstract and figurative formats. Consequently, I have a diverse body of work. My works emerge from the physical act of putting paint to canvas or paper. However, years spent learning the basic principles and processes of traditional painting, which I still enjoy practicing today, have provided the foundation for experimentation. While painting an abstract, the countless aesthetic decisions I make are rarely smooth and uncomplicated.
Yet, I relish the endless creative possibilities.
Jean Dalton's basic art education and study began with the practice of classical realism in a variety of media. Over the years, along with her many still lifes, landscapes and figure drawings, non-objective abstract painting slowly but strongly became a great motivator in stretching the creative boundaries.
